Banana Chia Crisps

Serving Size

12 CRISPS

Ingredients

  • 5 Bananas (medium, ripe)
  • 1 1/4 cup Chia Seeds
  • 1 2/3 tbsp Cinnamon

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF (177ºC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, mash the bananas with the back of a fork until smooth. For best results, use very ripe bananas to ensure they mash easily.
  • Stir in the chia seeds and cinnamon until fully combined. The mixture will be thick and slightly sticky.
  • Using a spoon, scoop out small dollops of the banana mixture (about 1 tablespoon per dollop) and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Gently press each dollop down with your fingers or the back of a fork to flatten them into thin discs.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn golden and the crisps feel firm to the touch. You can check their texture by lightly pressing one of the crisps to see if it has crisped up.
  • Remove from the oven and let the crisps cool down completely on the baking sheet. Once cooled, they will firm up even more.
  • Enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator, or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months. No Chia Seeds: You can substitute chia seeds with flax or sesame seeds for a different texture. Add-ins: If you like a sweeter taste, drizzle the crisps with maple syrup after baking.
