1 scoop of unflavored collagen or plant-based protein powder
2 tbsp walnut pieces
½ tbsp cinnamon
Optional: ½ cup blackberries
Directions
Combine base ingredients. In a small saucepan, add oats, milk, chopped dates, and cinnamon.
Cook over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook until the oats are soft and creamy — about 5–7 minutes for rolled oats or 20–25 minutes for steel-cut oats.
Stir in the nut butter and collagen powder until fully dissolved and creamy.
If using, spoon into a bowl and top with walnut pieces and blackberries.
Serve warm. Enjoy immediately for a cozy, nutrient-dense breakfast rich in fiber, potassium, and the dates' natural sweetness.
Notes
Non-dairy: Use almond or soy milk.
Collagen tips: Add collagen after heat removal to preserve texture and prevent clumping.
Nut-free: Use sunflower seed butter and pumpkin seeds.
Protein: With cow's milk or soy, this has 28-30 g of protein, with almond milk around 21 g.
Flavor variations: Add a dash of vanilla extract, sprinkle of sea salt, or top with sliced banana or chia seeds for extra flavor and nutrients.
