1.5 - 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
2 tbsp avocado oil
½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
¼ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp your favorite dry rub or ¼ cup sauce of choice
Directions
Prepare the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Season the wings: Drizzle with avocado oil, then add salt, pepper, and your favorite dry rub or sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
Preheat the air fryer to 400-425°F for a few minutes.
Cook the wings: Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400-425°F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through at the 10-minute mark.
Check doneness: The wings should be crispy and have an internal temperature of at least 165°F (preferably 175-185°F for extra tenderness).
Serve & enjoy: Toss in additional sauce if desired and serve hot with your favorite dips or side dishes.
Notes
Crispier Wings: Pat the wings completely dry before seasoning to achieve the best crisp.
Sauced Wings: If using a wet sauce, toss the wings in the sauce after air frying, then cook for another 2 minutes to caramelize.
Protein Content: 6 wings provide approximately 30g of protein.
Pregnancy Nutrition Tip: Chicken skin contains glycine, a conditionally essential amino acid beneficial during pregnancy.
Make it a meal: Serve with veggies or crispy potatoes!
Gestational diabetes: Use a dry rub or a sauce with no added sugar.
