Hey Stefanie! Wow, that sounds amazing and super fun. But, yes, proper fuel is very important. For electrolyte beverages, the biggest thing is trying to avoid the added sugar that come in most (you want to make sure it also has sodium in it)- you want to drink this before and during, typically for longer sessions. We have content on this coming soon with an at home recipe!! AFTER endurance exercise you’ll definitely want carbs (don’t have to skimp on these) so ideally a pretty well-balanced meal of carbs, protein, and fat. Energy bites (with nut butter, oats, chia seeds, honey, etc.) are good for pre or during, pre, if it closer to when you are heading out. 2-3 hours before you want to eat a full, well-balanced meal. Greek yogurt with fruit is another good option if you are going out within the hour- also note things that are easy to digest are ideal pre-workout.
I’m adding this topic to the note list, too, so we can cover it more extensively!
